2010-11 New York Knicks Schedule Announced

Home Opener at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, Oct. 30 vs. Portland
NEW YORK (August 10, 2010) – The New York Knickerbockers will open the team’s 65th season of NBA basketball on Wednesday, Oct. 27, on the road, facing the Atlantic Division-rival Toronto Raptors at Air Canada Centre at 7:00 p.m. The team’s home-opener at Madison Square Garden is on Saturday night, Oct. 30 against the Portland Trail Blazers with a 7:30 p.m. tip.

New York’s regular season home schedule is highlighted by a visit from the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, Feb. 11, two visits by the Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Dec. 15 and Monday, Mar. 21, two appearances by the Washington Wizards and the first overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, John Wall, on Friday, Nov. 5 and Monday, Jan. 24. Special holiday matinee home games include a Christmas Day game versus the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, Dec. 25 and the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day game versus the Phoenix Suns on Monday, Jan. 17. The team will play seven afternoon games at home.

Prior to the 82-game regular season, New York will participate in eight preseason games, including three at Madison Square Garden and two games at NBA Europe Live. Tickets for the preseason home games at MSG go on sale Tuesday, Sep. 7 at 9:00 a.m. and can be purchased at the Madison Square Garden Box Office, online at nyknicks.com, calling (866) 858-0009 and Ticketmaster outlets. The preseason schedule will be released later this month.

MSG Network, television home of the New York Knickerbockers, will telecast 78 regular season games, and all eight preseason games, including the team’s first two exhibition games in Milan and Paris. The broadcast team of Mike Breen and Knicks legend Walt “Clyde” Frazier, will be back for their seventh season together.
