Timberwolves Assign Lee to Skyforce

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 6, 2012) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the assignment of Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Malcolm Lee. He becomes the fourth Timberwolves player assigned to the Skyforce in their NBA Development League history, joining Chris Richard (2007-08), Nathan Jawai (2009-10) and Jonny Flynn (2010-11). He is expected to make his debut on Tuesday night as the Skyforce hosts the Dakota Wizards at 7 p.m. CT. The active roster now stands at 10 players.

Lee, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 30, was acquired by the Wolves in a draft-day trade after being selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft. He averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three seasons (94 games) at UCLA. The 6-5, 200-pound guard earned both All-Pac-10 First Team and Pac-10 All-Defensive Team honors as a junior last season.

Season tickets and 12-ticket flex packs for the 2011-12 season are on sale. Discounts and benefits are available for groups of 10 or more. For more information please contact a Skyforce representative at (605) 332-0605.
